PCD2-B Internal ISA to PCMCIA Interface Adapter with Slots in Rear Supports all PCMCIA 2.1 compliant Type I, II and III PCMCIA cards 16-bit ISA controller card ExCA compliant VT83C469 controller Compatible with all industry standard Flash File Systems (Including Microsoft FFS) Supported under DOS, Windows, and OS/2 The PCD2-B internal PCMCIA card drive allows desktop PCs with 16-bit ISA slots to use any 2.1 compliant PCMCIA cards such as solid state memory cards, I/O cards (including an extensive line of communication and data acquisition PCMCIA cards), and ATA hard disk cards. Using PCMCIA cards for extra storage is faster and more reliable than using floppy disks. In addition, large amounts of data can be conveniently transported between portable computers with PCMCIA sockets and desktop computers using the PCD2-B.
A dual slot drive is directly mounted on the PCD2-B interface adapter. The card is installed into one ISA expansion slot on the PC, and both PCMCIA slots are accessible though the rear of the computer. The PCD2-B can accommodate two Type I or II PCMCIA cards in any combination, or one Type III card.
The PCD2-B can read from and write to FLASH and SRAM memory cards, and can read from OTPROM (one Time Programmable) and EPROM memory cards. Memory card sizes up to 64 megabytes are supported.
The PCD2-B is supported under DOS, Windows 3.1, Windows 95/98 and OS/2 version 2.1 or higher. Support for Windows 2000 will be released soon. One copy of Card and Socket Services is included to allow the PCD2-B to operate in DOS and Windows 3.1. Windows 95/98, Windows 2000 and OS/2 include PCMCIA support in the operating system, and will not need the supplied Card and Socket Services. |
